European Countries have a very rich tradition and life but they encountering the following problems:


a) A lot of music material while is collected and digitized at national level, is not easy accessible be the European citizens and professionals.


b) Rich music civilizations and live local music movements of several European countries

are not well known to other countries


c) while music is an international language, the musicians are active mainly only

in their countries and have not the necessary opportunities to have recognition

or a presence to other counties.


MINSTREL tries through its activities to overcome these problems.

WHY MINSTREL

MINSTREL is addressed to manny domain of music

  1. -Music archives can take full advantage by circulating their digitized material

  2. -Composers have many opportunities on participating in Music residencies, transnational events, and find information on how to promote their work

  3. -Performers can participate in showcases, can find useful music material through the music works platform, and they can find practical information like promoters, agents and concert organizers, in their country but also in foreign countries

  4. -Music ensembles can promote themselves through the music ensembles platform

  5. -Concert organizers can find ensembles, repertoire and practical information for their job

  6. -Music professionals can be self-promoted but also can reach other professionals. They can also participate in conferences and workshops that explore several professional domains.

  7. -Music education can reach music material useful for practice or research

  8. -The wide public has the opportunity to listen to music form other countries but also to enjoy music that is not easy to find.
